Yeah, next year is a bit of a stretch, but while it is um, you know, expensive to travel, in terms of how expensive, it isn't very past the plane ticket, just because China's money is worth so very little. JUST TO SAY.

I do know that dialects change hugely, but if we celebrate the new year proper in a tourist city (Beijing or Shanghai), then you'd have to worry less, I think. Brittany says that the Chinese spoken there is much clearer than most other places (and we were in a lot of places).
